CodeChix Board of Directors comprise of industry and academia veterans who are passionate and dedicated to our cause. All board members are volunteers and provide support, guidance and governance.


Rupa Dachere, Founder, CEO

Rupa Dachere is the Founder and CEO of, a non-profit organization dedicated to the education, promotion and mentorship of women engineers. Creator of PiDoorbell (circa 2012 on the first Rpi) and entrepreneur, she is an FTE and holds Advisory roles at the Stanford GAP-For-Good program and the Dept. of Computer Science, University of Colorado, Boulder.

Rupa started CodeChix as a grassroots group in her living room in 2009 to address the needs of women engineers in industry and academia and grew it into a non-profit organization with a focus on the Bay Area and Silicon Valley. She self-funded CodeChix, worked on it on weeknights and weekends and hopes to inspire other women engineers to follow their dreams and passions while being financially stable and independent. 

Rupa is the recipient of the IEEE Meritorious Award for Informal Education and the Anita Borg Institute’s Pass-It-On Award. Rupa did her Computer Science studies at the University of Colorado, Boulder and is an active technical speaker at conferences like Open Source Summit, PyCon, OSCON, USENIX, Silicon Valley Code Camp, Grace Hopper Conference and others. Nithya Ruff, Board Member

Nithya A. Ruff is the Senior Director for Comcast’s Open Source Practice. She is responsible for growing Open Source culture inside of Comcast and engagement with external communities. Prior to this, she started and grew the Western Digital’s Open Source Strategy Office. Nithya has been a passionate advocate and a speaker for opening doors to new people in Open Source for many years. She has also been a promoter of valuing diverse ways of contributing to open source such as in marketing, legal and community. You can often find her on social media promoting dialogue on diversity and open source.


Nichelle Craig, Treasurer

Nichelle is an accountant and bookkeeper and runs her own business, Teva Solutions, in Sunnyvale, CA.



Mona Shah is a multi-platform storyteller with expertise in digital communications, social media strategy, and content curation for Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn for C-suite executives. A former journalist and Editor her experience spans television, cable news and magazines.

A proponent of driving communication in new ways- telling a story that matters, researching and understanding complex tech ideas and communicating them in layman language and propelling individuals and teams to achieve more than they thought possible. She believes in fostering a culture that can set a spark and ignite creativity and energy across teams and companies. A driven, curious and engaged adventurer and foodie, you often find her exploring various parts of the world, getting a sense of their rhythms, flavors and people.
