CodeChix Board of Directors comprise of industry and academia veterans who are passionate and dedicated to our cause. All board members are volunteers and provide support, guidance and governance.

Rupa Dachere, Founder, CEO

Rupa Dachere is the Founder and CEO of CodeChix.org, a non-profit organization dedicated to the education, promotion and mentorship of women engineers. Creator of PiDoorbell (circa 2012 on the first Rpi) and entrepreneur, she quit her FT job in Nov. 2018 and is full time on CodeChix to grow it to the next level. Rupa holds Advisory roles at the Stanford GAP-For-Good program and the Dept. of Computer Science, University of Colorado, Boulder.

Rupa started CodeChix as a grassroots group in her living room in 2009 to address the needs of women engineers in industry and academia and grew it into a non-profit organization with a focus on the Bay Area and Silicon Valley. She self-funded CodeChix, worked on it on weeknights and weekends and hopes to inspire other women engineers to follow their dreams and passions while being financially stable and independent. 

Rupa is the recipient of the IEEE Meritorious Award for Informal Education and the Anita Borg Institute’s Pass-It-On Award. Rupa did her Computer Science studies at the University of Colorado, Boulder and is an active technical speaker at conferences like Open Source Summit, PyCon, OSCON, USENIX, Silicon Valley Code Camp, Grace Hopper Conference and others. Whitney Brandt-Hiatt, Secretary

Whitney is a graphic design lead at RSA Security where she helps refine and evolve the company brand, contributes to web design projects, and offers her design expertise for teams all across the company. Her favorite thing about her job is being able to help people and solve problems using her many years of design experience. She has been volunteering with CodeChix since 2012 and joined the board so she could do more to help the organization achieve their mission and vision.

Eric Han, Director of Business Development

Eric Han is VP of Product Management at Portworx, a cloud-native startup. Eric leads Portworx’s strategic product direction as well as ecosystem partnerships. Prior to Portworx, Eric co-created Google Container Engine (GKE), was the first product manager at Kubernetes.

When Eric is not working, he is either training for a triathlon, over-engineering a home project, or planning a trip to Disneyland with his three kids. Eric has an MBA from Wharton, and a BS and MS from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.

Lieu Ta, Treasurer

Lieu is a Sr. Director of Business Operations at Wind River where she is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring corporate KPIs.  She has developed and improved business processes across multiple industries:  Embedded Software, Hard Disk Drives, Electronic Equipment, High Performance computing, Networking, and Telecom. 

Lieu has been involved with the Yocto Project, a project within the Linux Foundation, since inception in 2010.  Currently, she is the Advisory Board Chair for the Yocto Project.

MONA SHAH, BOARD MEMBER

Mona Shah is a multi-platform storyteller with expertise in digital communications, social media strategy, and content curation for Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn for C-suite executives. A former journalist and Editor her experience spans television, cable news and magazines.

A proponent of driving communication in new ways- telling a story that matters, researching and understanding complex tech ideas and communicating them in layman language and propelling individuals and teams to achieve more than they thought possible. She believes in fostering a culture that can set a spark and ignite creativity and energy across teams and companies. A driven, curious and engaged adventurer and foodie, you often find her exploring various parts of the world, getting a sense of their rhythms, flavors and people.
